Eskişehir Technical University, which has been continuing its activities with the aim of training qualified graduates, serving science and technology, and developing projects that contribute to society since the day it was founded, rises above knowledge and experience thanks to its half-century-long history.
Eskişehir Technical University (ESTU) continues to provide education and training services by prioritizing quality assurance, in 5 faculties (Faculty of Science, Faculty of Aeronautics and Space Sciences, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Sport Sciences), 2 Vocational Schools (Porsuk Vocational School, Transportation Vocational School) and Graduate Education Institute. It is ensured that our students gain unique experiences resulting in the development of competencies in line with the needs of the age and the future, by adopting scientific approaches and principles. In order to gain course learning outcomes in accordance with our institutional values, relevant criteria of accreditation institutions and ESTU learning outcomes, active learning practices are implemented by using approaches, methods-techniques and instructional technologies that enable students to learn in-depth by doing and experiencing core information.
The Department of Common Courses administers must and elective institution common courses across all units. It aims to assist in the fulfillment of the learning outcomes including 21st-century skills in institutions and faculties/vocational schools of the university's associate and undergraduate programs in an effective and sustainable manner, with face-to-face and/or interactive distance education methods. The Learning and Teaching Development Unit (ÖGEB) carries out planned activities aimed at improving learning skills in order to support the academic development of learners (students) in addition to studies for teachers.
In line with its strategic goals, research projects are carried out in cooperation with expert staff and relevant units in the creation and sustainability of an education-training ecosystem that supports student-centered and competency-based learning approaches. In this context, in order to meet the needs and expectations of our students for learning, the "Learning to Learn" and "I've Learned-I'm Applying" programs are carried out by the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Unit.
As an institution that has adopted a student-centered, student-based, learning-based education approach, the accreditation of 60% of 26 undergraduate programs (currently the average in Turkey is around 12%) is an important indicator of our university's sensitivity to providing national and international standards in the education process.
Departments in the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science and the Department of Architecture have been accredited for many years. Three of the four programs (Training, Physical Education, and Recreation) within the Faculty of Sport Sciences are accredited. The accreditation process of the Sports Management Program is still ongoing.
The 4 programs of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Space Sciences have established and operated an internal quality assurance system covering all administrative processes, especially the education process, under the coordination of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation and the Quality Management Unit, which is established in accordance with international legislation.
In accordance with our understanding of quality assurance, the institution itself is primarily responsible for the quality and sustainability of the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate education processes of our university. In this context, regardless of whether the programs are accredited or not, all of our programs go through a systematic internal evaluation process at the end of each academic year within the scope of our ESTU Internal Quality Assurance System in Education.
